Protein Associations

The Protein Associations visualization is a network graph of proteins from the species Arabidopsis Thaliana.

Not all the proteins shown are from Arabidopsis, since some proteins from Arabidopsis are related to proteins in other species. Some proteins have been discontinued by the Protein Data Bank but are still listed as "related to", their IDs will be correct, but their names will show as "N/A". All proteins with Arabidopsis as the source are in black, and all proteins from other sources are in red.

The relationships between proteins are usually one way, so that while protein A may be listed as relating to protein B, protein B will not be listed as relating to protein A. The lines showing "related to" will be in a darker blue than the lines showing "related from". If this sounds confusing, there's a list of the from/to relationships on the right.

Hover to show protein info, click to "freeze" the view, and filter with the controls (you can multiselect within the filter categories of Genes, Sources and Classifications).

The data is from the Protein Data Bank. I've had to condense their pdb-format data files into a summary file of my own.

Actually, I've added more species, as well as a search on prions. Here's the entire list:

Arabidopsis Thaliana (MOUSE EAR CRESS)
ARMORACIA RUSTICANA (HORSERADISH)
Brassica Juncea
CARICA PAPAYA (PAPAYA)
CRAMBE HISPANICA SUBSP. ABYSSINICA
SINAPIS ALBA (WHITE MUSTARD)
